Bluebay Beach Resort is located on the east coast directly on a white sand
beach in an area known as Kiwengwa. It takes about 40 minutes to reach the
hotel from the airport by car, and about 35 minutes from Stone Town.
The hotel is built on a slope overlooking the Indian Ocean in the midst of
a beautiful garden with innumerable palm trees. Due to the nearby coral
reef swimming is especially safe along this part of the beach.
Rooms/Furnishing:
The 80 Superior Rooms, 6 Deluxe Rooms and 2 Sultan Suites have each a spacious
sleeping room, separate dressing room, bath/WC and balcony or terrace. All rooms
are tastefully furnished in Zanzibarian style and have canopy bed with mosquito
net, bureau, air conditioning, ceiling fan, satellite TV, safe, minibar,
tea/coffee making facility, hairdryer and telephone.
The two Sultan Suites are set slightly apart from the main hotel area and
have direct access to the beach. The rooms and terrace are traditionally
furnished. The sultan-size bed and a private butler ensure recreation and
absolute relaxation.
Breakfast and dinner are served as daily changing theme buffets in the Makuti
Restaurant overlooking the pool. The pool bar offers a wide range of wines,
cocktails and coffee variations. The Bahari Beach Bar is the ideal place to
enjoy cold drinks, ice cream or milkshakes, as well as seafood, pizza and
other light snacks in a relaxed atmosphere barefoot in the sand.
Activities:
The Spa of the Bluebay Beach Resort is one of the best in East Africa. The
various treatment rooms are built mainly of natural materials and offer a
magnificant view of the ocean. All care products are individually prepared
for each guest shortly before treatment. The adjoining fitness centre has
a variety of modern equipment.
Following sport facilities are a the guests disposal: swimming pool with
jacuzzi, 5-star PADI diving school One Ocean,
watersport centre with canoes, sailing boats and surfboards, floodlit tennis
court, table tennis, beach volleyball and football.
A boutique offers fashionable garments and accessoires from the East African
region. In the business centre guests can send emails and surf the internet.
