Casa Del Mar is a small hotel and relatively undiscovered hideaway on the southeast coast
of Zanzibar. It is located directly on the white sand beach of Jambiani, a very charming village about 50 kilometres from
Stone Town. Unlike many other beaches on the east coast, Jambiani beach leaves small lagoon formations during
low tide. The hotel management is a young multi-cultural team with a new hotel concept different from any other
hotel establishments on the island, where guest can feel totally relaxed and at home.
Rooms/Accommodation:
Casa Del Mar is built with traditional local and natural materials, such as wood and cocos.
All designs and decorations were planned and accomplished by the hotel owners in a workshop directly on the location.
Each of the 12 rooms has wooden floor, ceiling fan, kingsize bed with mosquito
net, traditional furniture and seaview. The six ground floor rooms have a bathroom with hot and cold water
and a large terrace, while each of the six first floor rooms has a balcony. The special of the first floor
rooms is the extra sleeping area in form of a gallery.
The round open restaurant serves traditional and international delicasies combined with the scenery of the
Indian Ocean and swaying coconut palms. The hotel also offers prompt laundry service and internet connectivity.
Activities:
Fishing with the locals by the reef is an experience not to be missed. Casa Del Mar
Hotel organises trips to the Jozani Rain Forest where the Red Colobus monkeys can be seen,
dolphin watching at Kizimkazi,
as well as tours through Jambiani Village and various other activities.
