The Kempinski Hotel Zamani Zanzibar is located in the Kiwengwa region on the
northeast coast of Zanzibar. Stone Town and the airport are 60 kilometres
away and about 45 minutes by car. The hotel with its flat building style is
exclusively constructed by local materials, standing harmonicly in a 12 hectar
garden. A pier with roofed seatings crosses over the beach to the ocean. The
Kempinski Hotel Zamani Zanzibar opened in December 2005 and is the first
hotel on Zanzibar which was inernationally awarded five stars.
Rooms/Accommodation:
The 115 rooms and suites, one Presidential Villa and 6 private villas
offer an undisturbed view onto the Indian Ocean. The rooms and suites are
partitioned in 10 accommodation clusters with 6 Garden Rooms, 4 Terrace Rooms and one
Zamani Suite each. All of them have "queensize" bed with mosquito net, internet
connection, cable TV, telephone, voice mail, room safe, minibar and coffee
maker.
The 45m² Garden Rooms are located on the ground floor of each accommodation cluster
and have a large living and sleeping area, bath/WC, tropical indoor and outdoor
shower as well as a private terrace. The 45m² Terrace Rooms on the first
floor have sleeping/living area, bath/WC, indoor/outdoor shower, private balcony
and own roof terrace with deckchairs.
The Zamani Suite with a living area of 99m² is also located on the first floor.
The suite is divided into two large areas: living/dining room and bedroom.
Additionally the suite includes an indoor/outdoor shower, two private balconies and a
roof terrace with deckchairs.
The 6 spacious private villas are situated amidst lush tropical gardens and
offer either one or two bedrooms.
The 300m² Presidential Villa, also known as Zanzibar Villa, was constructed
on a cliff set aside from the accommodation clusters. Apart from the impressive view
onto the Indian Ocean, the Zanzibar Villa also offers a large living/dining room,
kitchen, two guest rooms with own bathroom, sleeping room, terrace and private
swimming pool.
Restaurants/Bars:
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the Cloves Restaurant or on the
adjoining Palm Terrace. The menu offers a mixture of international dishes with
Arabian and African influences. The restaurant Red Snapper is specialised
in seafood and is located on a cliff with a view over the ocean. Snacks
and chilled drinks are served at the Pool Bar. The Zanzi Bar offers a variety
of cocktails and international wines.
Activities:
The Kempinski Hotel Zamani Zanzibar has two swimming pools, fitness centre
and tennis court. The following sport activities are offered free of charge:
snorkelling, sailing, kayaking, table tennis, volleyball and bycicles.
Diving, deep-sea fishing and excursions to Stone Town, spice plantations
or the Jozani Forest nature reserve can be arranged by the hotel at
additional cost.
Various massages, baths, body and facial treatments are performed in the
Anantara Spa Zanzibar located in the hotel.
