Kurumba Village Resort
The first island resort built on the Maldives and only five minutes by
speedboat from Malé Airport, this resort is a perfect combination of
business and relaxation. The resort with its unparalleled service houses
one of the largest convention centers of the country, however, conveys the
seclusion of a Maldivian island and the luxury of a first class resort to
the guests without never loosing contact to the rest of the world. Despite
the close vicinity to Malé and the harbour, the waters around Kurumba are
still very fascinating for snorkeling especially on the edge of the reef
and the famous diving sites on the South as well as on the North Malé Atoll
are easily to be reached.
Rooms/Accommodation:
The resort features 169 Deluxe Rooms, that are not too spacious, but are
comfortably equipped and luxurious. The rooms are located in the shade of
huge palmtrees on the beach and come with air condition, hairdryer,
minibar, pipe-in music, tea and coffee making facilities,
bathroom/shower/WC, safe and telephone. In addition to the Deluxe Rooms,
there are four Junior and four Presidential Suites, that a more spacious and are
either tiled with marble or come with carpeted floors.
The four restaurants of the resort serve excellent culinary delights and
buffets with a great variety of delicacies from the Indian, Chinese and
Western cuisine. For refreshing drinks and cocktails, a visit of the two
well stocked bars and the 24-hour coffee shop can highly be recommended.
The modern wellness center offers traditional health and beauty treatments
from Chinese acupuncture to Maldivian sand massages (at extra charges).
Activities:
In addition to the wide open stretches of sandy beaches and the little
private areas between greenery and bushes, the center of the resort is the
huge swimming pool directly in front of the open-sided main bar. The second
pool is tucked away in the interior of the island in the sports complex,
that includes tennis courts, fitnesscenter, sauna and jacuzzi. Further
activities are windsurfing, catamaran-sailing, glass-bottom boat cruises,
billiard, volleyball and tabletennis and of course snorkeling and diving
(some of the activities attract a fee).
Entertainment:
Weekly entertainment program, discotheque, mobile dance floor under the
moonlight, Karaoke Bar and Piano Bar with classical music.
