Palm Tree Resort Dhigufinolhu
This small island is covered in lush tropical vegetation and is located
about 45 minutes from Malé International Airport in the South Malé Atoll.
It is connected to the neighbouring islands of Veligandu Huraa and Bodu Huraa by wooden
bridges. Guests on either islands share amenities and can enjoy the benefits
and advantages of having three tropical islands to visit and explore. The
reception is in the pavilion on the junction of the bridges.
Rooms/Accommodation: The resort features 60 Standard Rooms close to the beach with a stunning
view of the sea. Each room has bathroom, telephone, mini bar, spacious
wardrobe and seating area. Thick bushes thus ensuring undisturbed privacy
surround the terraces. The 37 Deluxe Rooms are spacious, elegantly
furnished and are completed with a veranda facing the magnificent
seas capes.
The main restaurants serve excellent international cuisine. The Dolphin
Grill prepares fish and seafood with great care, headed by the European
chef. The Restaurant on Veligandu Huraa specialises in Asian dishes served
at the beach and is only a walk across the bridge from Dhigufinolhu. The
bar and discotheque on the beach offer exotic drinks under the stars,
closing only after the last guest makes his way to bed.
Activities: Dhigufinolhu and Veligandu Huraa share the dive center on Bushy Island,
which can be reached by the wooden bridge from the reception pavilion.
Joerg Aebi, an experienced diving instructor from Switzerland, is an
excellent underwater photographer and willingly shares the best dive sites
with guests. Snorkeling expeditions take place on a ferry, departing from
the bar on the bridge to a nearby snorkeling platform where there is a
great variety of fish and coral reefs.
Included: Table tennis, bocci ball, darts, volleyball, badminton and canoeing.
Diving and diving lessons, windsurfing, catamaran sailing and night-fishing
attract an extra fee. Entertainment: After dinner relax and watch a traditional Bodu Beru show or dance under
the stars at the discotheque.
