Veligandu Huraa (Palm Tree Resort)
Veligandu Huraa, affectionately abbreviated as "Veli" is the smallest of
the three Palm Tree Islands. Veli, Dhigufinolhu and Bodu Huraa are
connected by wooden bridges which makes it easy for the guests to take
advantage of the amenities of all three resorts. Veligandu Huraa is the
perfect destination for honeymooners and travelers seeking the ultimate
tranquillity, who want to enjoy the luxuries of a first-class resort amidst
tropical vegetation and long sandy beaches in undisturbed privacy. The
house reef, about 400 m off the beach, offers the perfect conditions for
diving and snorkeling and the dive center on Bushy Island with its
experienced diving instructor Jörg Aebi is the starting point for beginners
as well as experienced divers.
Accommodation/Amenities:
The 18 elegant, thatched Bungalows built in the typical Maldivian tradition
are exclusively furnished and come with shower/bathroom/WC, hairdryer,
bathrobes, beach towels, air condition, ceiling fan, minibar, safe,
telephone and terrace. The 5 Junior Suites, located directly on the beach
are even more spacious and luxurious and offer comfort meeting the highest
demands.
The center of the island is the main restaurant "Al Fresco" in a romantic
setting under shady palm trees with a-la-carte or buffet nights. An Asian
restaurant as well as the barbecue restaurant on Dhigofinolhu, accessible
by an evening walk across the wooden bridges, complete the exquisite
cuisine of the resort. At night, a drink in the small, but cozy bar of the
resort can be recommended while enjoying the wonderful flowery scents and
the breathtaking view of the ocean.
