The Zanzibar Safari Club is located directly on a beach near Uroa village
on the east coast of Zanzibar, in the northern part of Chwaka Bay. It is about
35 kilometres drive to Stone Town and 30 kilometres to the airport along a
tarred road. This elegant hotel, which is decorated with antiques,
has been completely renovated in 2005.
Rooms/Accommodation:
There are total 50 rooms in bungalow style, divided in 48 Deluxe Rooms and
2 Suits. All are situated in a colourful tropical garden. Each room
has artistically carved furniture and traditional Zanzibarian beds as
well as bath/WC. The air-conditioned rooms are equipped
with telephone, TV, refrigerator, safe and mosquito net. Furthermore,
each bungalow has a private terrace with an antique style sofa and view
onto the garden or the Indian Ocean.
A swimming pool with sun terrace and a recreational area with Arabian
shishas (water pipes) near the beach are ideal for relaxing. Fresh
cocktails and various coffe variations are prepared in the Mashala
Cocktail Bar. The Moonlight Bar, which is located directly on the
beach, offers drinks combined with an amazing moonrise every evening.
The Mwangaza Restaurant serves international cuisine and the Ocean
View Restaurant spoils its guests with Swahili seafood delicacies.
The hotel facilities include an exclusive boutique, as well as internet,
fax and laundry service.
Activities:
Tennis (without floodlight), table tennis and billiards are inclusive.
In the watersport centre professional dive instructors provide
excellent dive experiences along the shores of Zanzibar. Tours to
Stone Town, spice plantations, the dolphin sights at Kizimkazi and the
Jozani Forest nature reserve can be organised by the hotel staff.
Entertainment:
The Zinc Discotheque, located on a pier in the ocean, entertains visitors
with current and traditional music shows several times a week.
