The Serena Inn is located in Stone Town overlooking Zanzibar Channel and
is a member of the hotel group Small Luxury Hotels of the World. It is
known as the best hotel in Zanzibar Town, and one of the best in
Tanzania. The Serena Inn is situated at the seaside of the city, only a

The Serena Inn consists of two beautiful houses restored in the traditional Zanzibarian
style - a Chinese Doctor's House from the 19th century and the neighbouring
former Telecommunications House, which was built 50 years later. Both buildings have
been connected to represent this luxurious hotel with its 23 twin bed and 24
double bed rooms as well as 4 suites. The rooms feature air condition, minibar,
TV and a private balcony with view onto the Indian Ocean. The hotel offers a
restaurant with ocean view, a bar, a swimming pool and a shop. The interior of
the hotel is a reflection of Arabian influence on Zanzibar with elaborate carvings of
doors and furniture in combination with colourful mosaic floors.
